We have reached over 2,000 views in less than 48 hours!

Maybe you came to this site because you are curious. Why do this movie? What am I hoping to achieve?

When The Wolf of Wall Street came out in theaters, it was blasted by critics, many of them female, for its excessive partying, constant nudity, and lack of substance in female roles. However, with talent such as Scorsese, DiCaprio, and McConaughey, I couldn’t pass it up for long. When I finally did see it, I admit I enjoyed it. Yes, it was certainly gratuitous, but given the subject matter, the actions of the characters were likely a reality then (and continue to be now).

But why can men behave like this?  “Boys will be boys.” It’s a simple phrase that makes inexcusable actions excusable – a phrase that refuses to retire even with age. Whether a 9-year-old boy toilet papers a house or a 29-year-old man snorts cocaine off a woman’s chest, “boys will be boys.” But why can’t a girl or woman step outside of what is acceptable without facing scrutiny or be accused of being “unladylike.”

Hollywood has always been a boy’s club. The vast majority of producers, directors, and writers are men. With few exceptions, Hollywood movies are made by men for men. The Wolf of Wall Street is the ultimate example of celebrating male debauchery – eliciting cheers from the audience when the Jordan Belfort character crawls on the floor in a drug-induced stupor, crashes his Lamborghini, or finds his hidden stash of cocaine after hitting his wife.

What if this male debauchery was reversed and portrayed by females? I did not want to be heavy-handed and say, “This is what I want you to think.” I wanted to have fun, and explore what people thought of this reversal. Would they find it funny, disturbing, or unbelievable? That is why I chose to make this trailer – shot for shot, word for word, ridiculous expression for ridiculous expression. Would people watch this movie? Would anyone ever make this movie? Probably not. Most of society feels women aren’t supposed to act this way, but in my world for a brief 2 and ½ minutes, they can.
